"TIDES"-A Show for Plaisir
Sunday26th May   7.30 pm
Tickets £6/£5

“TIDES” - A Show for Plasir
Lowestoft is twinned with Plasir in France. This year the Seagull was honoured to be asked to send a show to our French siblings by the town’s twinning association.Tides, looks at life in England today but also some of the history of Lowestoft and a journey though the town’s life and culture. Looking at our relationship with other countries, this show consists of drama, dance and song. It will be a performance in both English and French for anyone with an interest in the town and the performing arts.

There will be an article about this in this Friday's Journal. Tides is a especially commissioned show that will be performed in Plaisir next week and once this Sunday. If you miss it it is gone for good. And it will be really good. A lot of hard work has gone into it so give it a look and get you tickets and beat the rush before everyone reads about it on Friday.
Ring the Seagull Theatre or book online.

What the Twinning is about!

This is a story from Jose!

One young adult Lowestoftian liked to stay in his Plaisir Family. His parents, quite well off, didn’t understand why their son liked so much going to Plaisir to live in a family instead of staying in a nice hotel.
So next summer, when the parents went to Deauville for the Races, he asked them to come to join him in Plaisir to meet his twinning family for lunch.
The family had asked all the neighbours to join in for the apéritif and lunch.
Everything was just perfect. (mettre les petits plats dans les grands) means you do all you can to spoil your guests. after dessert, there was café, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, Armagnac, Cognac everything worth 5 stars hotels and restaurants.
After this treat, they drove back to Lowestoft. The young man’s mother said to him :
Now, I understand why you want to go so often to Plaisir :
TWINNING IS SOMETHING MONEY CAN’T BUY
